When we talk with our friends and clients, everyone seems to be passionate about the schools that their children attend and most feel like the are in “the best” elementary school district in Forsyth County. For those of you who are new to the area, we wanted to give you a bit more information so you could make an informed decision when you purchase your next home. To follow are a few important things to consider when searching for the best elementary schools in Forsyth County:
What high school is it affiliated with? Elementary schools in the South Forsyth High School and Lambert High School districts tend to be highly sought after, so starting your home search by high school district is probably the best place to start.
South Forsyth real estate – Thanks to the excellent location and close proximity to Alpharetta and the interstate, homes in South Forsyth County are almost always a solid real estate investment. Many home buyers gravitate to the area (versus North Fulton County) due to the lower property taxes and top-ranking public schools.
Great Schools Rating – Almost every elementary school in Forsyth County received a 9 or 10 rating from GreatSchools.com. Schools that topped the list include Big Creek Elementary, Sharon Elementary, Daves Creek, Vickery Creek, and Shiloh Point Elementary schools. The only schools that didn’t have the 9 or 10 rating were Chestatee, Midway and Cumming (they came in with a “7” ranking, which is still very good!).
School Digger Rating – This popular ranking website ranked ALL the best elementary schools in Georgia. At the top of the list of the best elementary schools in Georgia were several Forsyth County elementary schools! Sharon Elementary ranked #4 in the state, Daves Creek Elementary was #8 and Brookwood Elementary was ranked #9 on the list.
