Metro Atlanta Home Search
Explore Atlanta Real Estate
When we decided to create MetroAtlantaSuburbs.com, our #1 goal was to build the VERY BEST Atlanta home search tool. Some of the “big box” real estate websites don’t make it easy for potential home buyers to search for things like new construction homes, Craftsman bungalows, or country club homes. We want to change all of that and offer search options that are important to you, whether it is a 3-car garage or a home with a swimming pool.

Thinking About Relocating to the Atlanta area?
There are many reasons to visit Atlanta and even more reasons to want to live in this beautiful southern city. Atlanta is filled with some of the friendliest people you will ever meet and offers southern charm and elegance that will make for an unforgettable experience. The center of southeastern United States, Atlanta is a commercial, industrial, transportation and cultural hub of the country, highly developed after the Civil War and modernized for the 1996 Olympic Games held here. Over the years, the city has experienced war, destruction, fires, drought, floods, but it has always been revived and rebuilt from the ground up, becoming a symbol for the American South.
Thriving Economy & Culture
Today, the city thrives and is one interesting destination, blending old and new together, offering a distinct and original experience. A major economic center, Atlanta has no less than three different skylines, with tall skyscrapers and headquarters for many international famous companies, beginning with Coca Cola. The city is spread over several areas, each with its own particularities and attractions, starting with the bustling Downtown, where everything important happens and most visits should start. This area is dominated by the tall skyscrapers forming its skyline. There are many landmarks and attractions, but for those coming here for the first time, the most important and interesting ones make for excellent visits and experiences.
Big Heart, Character & Vibrant Downtown District
The Georgia Aquarium of Downtown Atlanta might as well be the quintessential symbol of the city, being the largest aquarium in the world, with a huge area and as much a one hundred thousand animals and marine life forms. It is also the only place in the world where visitors can dive and swim with whale sharks, as well as other fun and exciting activities and adventures set around the magical underwater world. Still, in Downtown, the Georgia State Capitol is housed inside a beautiful old building and houses an interesting museum about the history of the state.
Maybe the most famous person from Atlanta, Martin Luther King Jr., is appreciated through its own center and memorial site that includes his birth home, the church where he preached and many other sites, representing a tribute to his social change work. The Centennial Olympic Park takes visitors back to 1996 when the city hosted the centennial Olympic Games. Other interesting things to see and do in Downtown Atlanta include the Coca Cola experience, the CNN Center, the Children Museum, the Georgia Dome arena and many others.
Endless List of Entertainment & Dining Options
One of the best areas for entertainment and dining is just a little north of Downtown, known as Midtown. It is also a great place to live and work in Atlanta, as it is a financial and commercial center. Besides being such a nice place to live, this area also has other interesting attractions, starting with a variety of different museums, such as the High Art Museum, Museum of Design, Museum of Contemporary Art, Jewish Heritage Museum, Margaret Mitchell House and Museum and many others.
Other highlights include the Botanical Gardens of Atlanta, Fox Theatre, Piedmont Park and so on. Still north of Midtown, the Buckhead area continues with an upbeat atmosphere featuring shopping and entertainment. The area, famous for its nightlife, is now being transformed into a modern and elegant shopping destination, having its own skyscraper skyline. The Atlanta History Center features a large natural area filled with wildlife tours, forests and historical farms and houses from the old days of Atlanta, offering a charming glimpse into the past. These and the other parts of Atlanta form the complete image of a modern, yet authentic city, with deep roots into the past, and give a short idea about how great it is to live here, how many unique and fascinating things it has to offer to both visitors and inhabitants.
Yet, Atlanta goes beyond its most famous landmarks, being a state of mind and a truly engaging experience, with its delicious gastronomy that can be discovered in the countless traditional or luxurious restaurants, with its thriving nightlife and its fabulous festivals, the intense cultural life and inciting sporting events. One has to see all these in person in order to understand and truly discover this amazing city.
