It was a good year for home sales in Marietta! While many other school districts experienced a slight decline in home sales and/or the average single-family home sales price, Walton High School home sales remained strong and were almost identical to the previous year,
Home sales were right on par year over year (580 vs 576 homes sold). The average home sales price in Walton HS district dipped a tiny bit, from $599,175 in 2018 to $595,100 in 2019.
There were a few changes in 2019: Buyers were negotiating a bit more off the asking price and averaged 2.7% and Walton High School homes took about 5 days longer to sell on average. Home sellers were also asked to contribute more towards the buyer’s closing costs – $3,800 on average. We predict that this trend will continue into 2020.
