The Atlanta Suburb of the Month is… Smyrna!

Smyrna GA is the Atlanta suburb of the month

Over the last decade, the Atlanta suburb of Smyrna has been growing in popularity by leaps and bounds. From 2000 to 2010, the Smyrna grew by 25%, according to the US Census.  If you aren’t familiar with the area, hopefully this will help you understand why we’ve named Smyrna the Metro Atlanta Suburb of the Month!

Why We Love Smyrna, Georgia

1) Location

Smyrna is located about 15 minutes outside the City of Atlanta and only 15 to 20 minutes from the airport. Residents enjoy easy access to the major interstates (I-75 and I-285) and US Hwy 41, so it’s a fantastic option for commuters. It’s also minutes from the popular Vinings Village and North Buckhead, as well as several corporate headquarters, including Home Depot, Atlanta Bread Company and IBM.

2) Community

In the 1990s, several developments were constructed, including the Jonquil Village and Smyrna Market Village. Smyrna Market Village gave the community a center to gather for festivals, farmers markets, and open air concerts. It also offers some fantastic boutiques and restaurants, from Atkins Park Tavern to Zucca Bar and The Corner Taqueria. For those home buyers that were attracted to the Vinings area, but wanted to spend a bit less on their home or condo, Smyrna GA now offers a similar personality and charm.

3) The Great Outdoors

For those of you who love to “play” outside, Smyrna is definitely the place to be. The popular Silver Comet trail runs through Smyrna and is a favorite for bikers and joggers. There are also dozens of parks and walking trails along the Chattahoochee River. The proposed Braves baseball stadium will also be minutes away from Smyrna.
